Initiating a Whole-Community Approach

Multi-sector convenings are launched with community leaders to build a cohesive local vision for the future of early education in Fort Worth.

Prioritizing Parents in Education

Fort Worth Parent Engagement Collaborative lifts up parent voice and leverages community and philanthropic resources to boost outcomes in the Morningside neighborhood.

Learning from National Best Practices

Nationally acclaimed models in early childhood education are brought to Fort Worth for leaders to glean best practices and shape local strategy.

Imbuing Ellison Miles’ Values for the Future

Founder Ellison Miles’ 100-year legacy is honored as The Miles Foundation maps out its vision for the future.

Launching Best Place for Working Parents®

Fort Worth business leaders co-develop the first-of-its-kind 3-minute online business self-assessment highlighting the top 10 research-backed policies proven to support working parents AND businesses’ bottom line.

Increasing Access Through Technology

A locally-developed child search website for essential workers during COVID is adopted by the state, and Schoolahoop launches as a customized school search for local families.

2021
Expanding Child Care & Family Supports Nationwide

The Best Place for Working Parents® expands outside of Texas to five states across the country, and publishes new research to underscore the positive business impact of  child care supports and family-friendly policies.

Developing Parent Pass® App with Local Families

Together with nine diverse neighborhoods and 200 local parents, Parent Pass® is launched as the one-stop-shop resource ensuring every family has access to robust local resources available to help their children thrive – from cradle to career.

Catalyzing Education Innovation in Texas

The Miles Foundation’s partnership with VELA Education Fund joins more than $11M of philanthropic support of specialized and innovative school models in Texas and across the country.

Creating a New System of Care for Local Mothers & Babies

The Tarrant County Maternal & Infant Health Coalition builds a comprehensive resource map, gains insights from local mothers, and coalesces to launch a comprehensive high-tech, high-touch system of care.

Connecting Families with the Best Place for Students™

Best Place for StudentsTM is launched to highlight a diversity of local bright spot school models that are helping students to thrive, and connecting families and school providers with funding opportunities and supports to drive more students to their best-fit educational environment.
